Franco Fanizzi
The Captain
Born in Padua (Italy) April 2 nd 1958, Franco ”The Captain” is the lead voice and the guitar player.
Franco's passion for the guitar started at the age of three with a guitar toy given by the grandparents for a family's photo with his cousins, in effects we can say that "The Cousins" was his first band.Ten years later already teen-ager he bought his first guitar, a mythical "Ibanez" acoustic, and after some boring private lesson he started to play as autodidactic.
His first true band was “The Modern Surfers” in high school with other four friends (a mixture among Beach Boys and other Californian bands like Doors, Jefferson Airplane etc..etc..).Toward the end of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s he has played in different garage-rock band as Steel Spinters, Electric Train and Beat Crazy.
In November of 2004 the “close encounter of the third kind” with Roberto "The Hook" Braiato, a kind of little space cowboy, that told him: “…you must play bluegrass music…”, and Franco finally saw the light as Hank Williams sang....
Now you can see him "jump" on the stages with a Bluegrass Band called The MISMOUNTAIN BOYS… that’s all folks.
